Charlotte Wright

Charlotte Wright originally trained in social work and ran a large under 5's centre for Hackney Social Services for many years. Charlotte's life and career drastically changed with the tragic death of her young daughter Holly.
She turned to her first love, art,studied fine art and ceramics at the London Institute graduating in 1995.
She has had numerous successful shows in London and now Devon.
In 2000 Charlotte and her family relocated to a smallholding in Brooking South Devon,practically self sufficient in stunningly beautiful countryside.
Her painting is richly influenced by the landscapes,weather and seasons around her home and working on the land leads her to see things anew and to respond to the changing rhythms in the environment around her.
Charlotte is a colourist and painter of the most unique variety.
Her lush rich and energetic paintings suck up the succulent Devon landscape and by overlaying textures of intense colours her paintings emerge through layers of translucency.
